US 181 Harbor Bridge Project launches new website
The public will now have access to the latest construction information and traffic advisories related to the new US 181 Harbor Bridge project. The design/build firm, Flatiron/Dragados, LLC, hired by the Texas Department of Transportation to construct the new bridge launched the site on Friday, May 27. The new website address is harborbridgeproject.com.
Site visitors have the opportunity to view the latest news related to the construction of the bridge, including traffic updates and worksite maps. The site will also include employment information, Project FAQs, and a contact form that members of the public can complete if they have questions or concerns regarding construction.
About the Harbor Bridge Project: The nearly $900 million project will include the development, design and construction of just over six miles of combined bridge and roadway. It will include the new six-lane Harbor Bridge, as well as, the reconstruction of approximately 1.6 miles of IH-37 and approximately one mile of the Crosstown Expressway. Once the new bridge is open to the traveling public, the project will conclude with the demolition of the existing Harbor Bridge. It is anticipated that the project will take five years to complete.
